2 Stripes Down, 1 To Go!

John Thomas earned his second stripe today.  He needs one more (in about 4 weeks), then he'll be able to test for his new belt.  So proud!

Upstate Karate Picnic

We had an awesome day at the Upstate Karate Picnic.  It was held at Cleveland Park which is so nice now that they have all new play equipment!  The event included lots of homemade food and desserts, playing, an egg toss, tug-a-war, three legged race and much more!  I'm already looking forward to next year :)

New state of the art merry go round.  Bryson is pushing all of the big kids.  (John Thomas is on his belly)

Karate Take 2

We've decided to enroll John Thomas in karate this school year. It's a great program in Simpsonville and they will pick him up from school, take him to the center and he'll have karate almost daily. John Thomas is soooo excited.
I pledge allegiance...
Tonight was his second class and he earned his white belt.

Karate Class 1

Tonight was John Thomas' first night of karate. We arrived a couple minutes late because of traffic and all of the parents commented on how cute he looked in his Gi. Tonight they learned how to punch and block. John Thomas seemed to really enjoy the punching part. Poor Bryson better watch his back. Enjoy the pictures, they are a little blurry since the parents watch from outside the glass wall so that the teachers have full control and of course John Thomas wasn't facing us. I would have gotten more pictures but apparently Bryson used up all of his sweetness at Karen's today (she said he was an angel). He was showing off his "two-tude" so John and I spent most of the hour trying to figure out why he wasn't happy.

This is what Bryson obviously wanted... His bed. Look how happy he is right now.
