Our First Winter Sickness

And hopefully the last...

Took the boys in yesterday because Bryson had developed a really bad cough and John Thomas was complaining that his throat and skeleton hurt. Well Bryson has bronchitis and John Thomas has a sinus infection. Antibiotics for 10 days and a strong cough medicine. John Thomas woke up with a bad cough this morning. :(

Edited to add...

Poor John Thomas really got sick last night. Here's a pic of him resting after a good dose of Tylenol.

Bathtub Fun

Maybe the Curious George bath foam wasn't such a great idea.

23 Years Ago Today...

The Challenger Exploded.
I can remember watching it on TV at McDonald Green Elementary in Lancaster, SC. I was only 7 years old, in 2nd grade. I didn't really understand what happened until an later when the teacher explained it all to us. She had turned the TV off soon after it happened to spare us the horrible details. The site below has a great summary of events.

ENT, A Shark Bite, & The Big Bad Wolf

So today Bryson had a followup with the ENT to check his tubes. Before the dr. came in John told him not to be scared, that the dr. was only going to make sure his ears were ok. So in walks the dr. and Bryson says "a shark bit my hand, see look there's the boo boo" Um don't know where that came from.

The appt. went great. Tubes looked good!

When John got to Karen's, there was only one other little one there so Karen told Bryson he could pick out a movie to watch. He said, "I watch TV" and Karen said, "No, the tv is broken" and Bryson said "the big bad wolf break it?"

He is such a hoot.

Hamster Update

Well we are unfortunately down to 2 babies. 1 black like Easy and one white. I'm not sure what's happening. They seemed so big and healthy just Thursday, and by Sunday 6 were gone to hamster heaven. Easy isn't doing it, must just be natural causes. :(

Cupcake Fun

Weekend Update 1/16-1/19

We had a lot going on this weekend so I'll just recap in one post.

1/16 - Friday John and I headed to Atlanta for a training seminar for my jewelry business. The boys were excited to stay with Maw maw and Poppy (John's parents) and I was excited to see the new line of jewelry! We got to ATL around 11:00, checked in and browsed all of the displays and information. There were lots of drawing and such during the trainings to keep it fun and I was recognized during the day for my accomplishments as a new jeweler along with other new jewelers.
As we walked across our names were displayed.

Sample of the new jewelry! It's awesome!

We called to check on the boys a few times but they were way to busy having fun to talk to either of us. After a long day of training, John and I headed to our hotel, ordered room service and relaxed!

1/17 - Saturday was day 2 of training so we were up bright and early to have breakfast and head to the convention center. Once again there were drawings, testimonies, and trainings through out the day. Again I was recognized but this time it was for grossing over $3,000 in a 30-day period (Premier calls this the Amethyst crown).
Me with some other crown girls.

The day ended around 4 p.m. and we headed back to Easley to get the boys. They were happy to see us but not as excited as Mawmaw and Poppy. They had been worked over.

1/18 - Sunday was a very lazy day. John and I were worn out, the boys weren't. Throughout the day forts were built, pillow trampolines were constructed, and a nap was hard to come by. The most exciting part was that Bryson was in big boy undies all day long (even nap time) and only had 2 accidents (both pee-pee not poop accidents YAY!!) After nap time, I decided to go to Greenwood to let the boys see Grammie and Papa (my parents) and Granddaddy and Ems (my grandparents). We got to Greenwood a little after 6, and the boys were so excited! This is when accident #2 happened for Bryson so he must have been VERY excited! We just hung out Sunday night and visited. We missed John though. He had to work Monday so he couldn't come. I'm sure you know that he was just miserable at home with no noise, and the TV all to himself. :)

1/19 - Monday we got up and dressed to go out to the lake to visit Granddaddy and Ems for lunch. The boys wanted to be outside the whole day but it was too cold. Bryson kept asking for Granddaddy to put the boat in the water and John Thomas wanted his bathing suit. (It was about 39 degrees). We had a great lunch as always and then just visited while the boys played.

Bryson fell asleep, so we left later than I wanted to.

We got back to Simpsonville around 7:30 and everyone was happy to be home. I hadn't seen Easy and her babies since Thursday so I went in to snap a few pics to show their progress. Wow they are getting big and sooo cute!

Easy brought up some of her food for them (notice the dried carrot) and they suck on it. It's pretty cute.

School Registration

Today is the day... We're registering John Thomas for kindergarten today. He'll go to a school about a mile away. We drove by the other day and showed him and he commented that it was "too big". I can't believe my baby is going to be starting kindergarten in Aug. His big 5th birthday is coming up in a little over a month. He's so excited to turn 5.

Hamster Update

Potty Break

One day he will kill me for this...

Reading Time

John Thomas loves his TAG reading system and has been reading to Bryson.
I SPY and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom are the favorites.

They are laughing because John Thomas found the trumpet and when you press it, sounds like a poot.

We're Grandparents

I know I know, you're thinking how on earth are you grandparents.
Well our sweet little hamster we've had since Friday gave birth sometime Wednesday to 9 or 10 babies.
I'm too young for this. :)

Easy before she popped out a bunch of babies.

Babies just hours old.
